The overall purpose of the conference is to bring together experts from different fields of mathematical analysis and geophysics to explore new research paths and possibles synergies.

Recent advances in spectral, scattering, resonance theories, seismic measurements and related inverse problems will be reviewed in this perspective, with a particular accent on applications to surface waves.
